2009 PROMOTIONS ARCHIVE

Below are all the promotions on record for 2009. We hope you enjoy reviewing the accomplishments of our many students working hard to achieve rank at Kim's Martial Arts & Fitness. To jump directly to a specific month's promotions, click on the month link.

At the July Promotions, Mr. Robert McNeily advanced to the rank of 2nd-Dan (YI-Dan) in Taekwondo. Mr. McNeily has been studying martial arts under GrandMaster Kim at the Brentwood Dojo for many years and also holds an advanced rank in Judo.

At the June Promotions, Mr. Bob Berry advanced to the rank of 3rd-Dan (San-Dan) in Judo. With this promotion, Mr. Berry joins an elite group of instructors at our school holding a rank of 3rd degree or higher in more than one martial art. Bob will be taking a leave of absence from our dojo for a temporary assignment in Massachusetts of undefined duration. Always a pleasure to work with on the mat, we will anxiously await his return visits!

At the May TKD Tournament, Mr. Roger Gaughan advanced to the rank of 5th-Dan (Oh Dan) to achieve the designation of Master. Master Gaughan has been studying under GrandMaster Kim for many years and is a regular competitor at both the regional and national levels. He has won numerous tournament medals and titles and is always an inspriation to our school and students.

At the January TKD Tournament, Mr. Craig Munster advanced to the rank of 4th-Dan (Sa Dan) to achieve the designation of Master Instructor - SaBomNim. Master Munster has been studying under GrandMaster Kim for many years and has assisted with classes at both the Brentwood and Cranberry dojos as well as with many of the Pitt classes. His instruction and techniques are always top notch.
